I Fell off a Ladder

Before I saw a chiropractor in Peoria AZ, I could not have been more wrong about what they do. I thought they were just there to help people who might have whiplash after a car wreck or even to help someone who has a minor sore back. I did not think they handled anything that was severe, and I thought all they did was use their hands to give what I thought was just a very deep massage to make someone feel better. I had no intention of seeing a chiropractor, but my doctor is the one who told me I would benefit from it.

I had gone to him after I fell off a ladder. Normally this would not have required anything other than a day of taking it easy, but I had twisted something in my back. The pain was almost unbearable, and I went to the emergency room because I thought I had done some serious damage to my body. The ER doctor ordered X-rays, but it was determined that there were no breaks or other internal damage. They referred me back to my regular doctor after giving me a shot for the pain.

My doctor told me that he could write me a script for pain medicine, but he said that I would benefit even more from having a few adjustments done on my back. He is a believer in chiropractic care from personal experience, so I figured I should go with his advice. The experience was not what I thought it would be. Yes, I did get a manual manipulation, but it was not a glorified massage at all. It was deep and effective, and I felt so much better after that first one. That experience has taught me to have more of an open mind about things I don’t know much about!
